Transfer of Credits

A request for transfer of credits must be made upon application for enrollment. The applicant's transcript must be evaluated prior to enrolling. DACR will begin the evaluation of credits upon receipt of an official transcript from each post-secondary school the applicant has attended. Delays in transmission and evaluation of academic and/or financial aid transcripts may adversely affect plans for enrollment.

Credits will be accepted for transfer to corresponding courses at DACR if they are from an NCRA-approved court reporting program leading to an Associate of Applied Science Degree or a Bachelor's degree, or credits earned at institutions accredited by agencies recognized by the United States Department of Education.

DACR makes neither a blanket commitment to accept transfer of credits nor any guarantee that any other school will accept DACR credits.

In general, the following standards will apply:

1. Subjects for which credit is requested must be parallel in content and intensity to subjects offered at DACR

2. Classes must have been taken at an accredited court reporting school or accredited postsecondary institution

DACR recognizes that substantial differences exist in course content and evaluation criteria from school to school; therefore, credits earned at accredited public and private two-year and four-year colleges and universities may qualify students to challenge DACR courses by exemption examination.

A student may challenge an academic course and be awarded credits if he or she meets the requirements as set forth in the DACR policy on exemption.
