What is my income potential?
Income varies depending on the type of reporting jobs and experience of the individual reporter. According to statistics compiled by the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA), the median income for court reporters is $61,800 per year. Earning potential is often only limited by the amount of time a court reporter is willing to work. The more available a reporter makes himself or herself, the more work will be offered to them. Judicial reporters and freelance reporters are paid for transcript production. Typically, transcript production adds several thousand dollars to a reporter's income.
